Michael Jackson has died at age 50 in Burbank, California after being rushed to the hospital after suffering cardiac arrest. His life has been a series of highs and lows and triumph and devastation, and no matter what was thought about him in later years, he was considered the 'King of Pop' by many and was a pioneer in the music industry.

There are obvious dilemmas when it comes to blogging on current affairs, or any other form of writing of social commentary, and there’s certainly an element of concern that to write on the whole Michael Jackson deal is simply stoking the fire of the media frenzy and jumping on the popular culture bandwagon. But as it’s nigh on impossible to avoid the subject, and as with any media frenzy, it’s perhaps worth exploring what lies behind it.
The King of Pop is dead, but controversy over his interest in the Beatles library lives on. The late music superstar possibly the last the world will ever see left behind hefty debts, two or more wills and a tangle of extensive business dealings. His most valuable asset, a 50 percent share in the publishing rights to over 200 legendary Beatles songs, could be affected.
The world has been reeling for the past week ever since Michael Jackson passed away, and President Barack Obama offered his thoughts about the loss today.
Listings for tickets to the Michael Jackson memorial service at Los Angeles’ Staples Center on Tuesday appeared on eBay and Craigslist as soon as winners were notified on Sunday.
Many had thought that controversies regarding Michael Jackson would fade away after the singer’s death. But it didn’t turn up to be so. The recent controversy that has popped up regarding the pop icon, is the cause of his death, which is not clearly mentioned in the ‘death certificate‘, issued by the medical department.
I'm no medical expert, but even I can see that the cocktail of powerful sedatives Michael Jackson's physician administered to his patient over the 24 hours before the star stopped breathing last month ought to have been considered a potentially lethal brew. On Monday, the Lost Angeles Country coroner ruled Mr. Jackson's death a homicide and the doctor, Las Vegas cardiologist Conrad Murray, is now the target of a manslaughter investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Dr. Conrad Murray, who became famous for treating Michael Jackson just before the star’s death, has been sued more than a dozen times for claims including breach of contract and unpaid child support. Yet he has never been sued for malpractice.
US journalist Daphne Barak, was handed over with a series of tapes which voiced Michael Jackson's voice , pleading of help. The tapes also described his fear for life. Reports say that Michael Jackson may be under the influence of drug while talking over the phone. The wordings and the tone give away his erotic mental state at the time of the conversation.
