Aaja Nachle Lyrics Controversy
Friday, November 30, 2007
A funny controversy has hit the news. A day after the movie Aaja Nachle (the hyped up come back of madhuri dixit) released, UP chief minister has banned it!! What could an innocent movie do which could invite such harsh reactions?! The news itself is very amusing. The innocent movie on reviving dance can no way hurt hindu or muslim sentiments. Ah yes, the next big thing could be dalit sentiments.

After Uttar Pradesh, Punjab government has also banned Madhuri Dixit's latest movie Aaja Nachle for an alleged offensive song that has hurt the sentiments of Dalits. However, latest reports say Uttar Pradesh government has revoked the ban. The ban comes as a shocker for the makers of Aaja Nachle which was cleared by Censor Board without any objections prior to the film’s screening.
Producers of Madhuri Dixit 's comeback film Aaja Nachle , which has run into a controversy over its title song, today apologised for the lyrics and said that immediate action has been taken to remove the objectionable words. The instructions to remove the offending lyrics in the title song of the film had been sent to all distributors and exhibitors on Friday night and will not be heard in theatres from Saturday, a release from film's producer Yashraj Films stated in Mumbai.
Controversies mostly act as oxygen for films. However, the row over the objectionable lyrics in 'Aaja Nachle' that led to a brief ban on the film in some states, couldn't work wonders for it. According to box-office reports, Madhuri Dixit's much-awaited comeback vehicle opened to a poor response of 25 to 30 percent across the country and hasn't set the cash registers ringing yet.
