Harbhajan draws ire for anti-Bhangra utterances

At the IPL awards night, during an act with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Bhajji jokingly said, `Bhangra toh langra hai’ (`Bhangra is lame’). This comment did not go down well with members of the Punjab Heritage and Culture Society, who saw the promos of the event on air recently.

Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh's Ravana-Sita dance number with TV actress Mona Singh on a dance show has left the Sikh clergy fuming. Harbhajan, who is popular in cricket circles as 'Bhajji', and his dance partner Mona of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin fame, had last week performed a number on dance reality show Ek Khiladi, Ek Hasina depicting themselves as mythological demon-king Ravana and Lord Ram's wife Sita.

Harbhajan, leading the Mumbai IPL team, allegedly slapped paceman S. Sreesanth, who represents Mohali, after the IPL match. The incident happened when the teams were shaking hands at the end of the match. Sreesanth broke into tears and his teammates had to console him and take him to the dressing room.

Andrew Symonds was apparently the target of racist abuse during the fifth ODI against India in Vadodara on Thursday after being subjected to monkey chants while fielding on the boundary. According to a report in the Sydney Morning Herald, the incident occurred during the second half of India's innings at the IPCL Sports Complex, but the police and the state cricket administration denied the allegation.
