Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh's Ravana-Sita dance number with TV actress Mona Singh on a dance show has left the Sikh clergy fuming. Harbhajan, who is popular in cricket circles as 'Bhajji', and his dance partner Mona of Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahin fame, had last week performed a number on dance reality show Ek Khiladi, Ek Hasina depicting themselves as mythological demon-king Ravana and Lord Ram's wife Sita.

Controversy marred the function of Bhagat Singh's 101st birth anniversary when chief minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal objected to the image of the martyr used on the coins released. Mr Badal told Union tourism minister Ms Ambika Soni, who was present at the function, that his photograph in a hat, which has been embossed on the new coins, was not right. Arushi, the 14-year-old daughter of a successful dentist couple, was found dead with her throat slit in her parents'home at Jalvayu Vihar in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.

Harbhajan, leading the Mumbai IPL team, allegedly slapped paceman S. Sreesanth, who represents Mohali, after the IPL match. I have named above just a few instances of human rights violations. Across the world, and indeed within our own country too, there are several instances and examples of atrocities and human rights violation, which are still continuing. I categorically state that I am absolutely against any form of violence, and certainly I am deedly upset whenever the basic rights of human beings are violated anywhere in the world. However, I feel that the Olympic Games do not belong to China.
